About Me
Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) | BC-Based | Anti-Oppressive, Trauma-Informed Care | Bengali | South Asian
Hi, I’m Maitreyi - a bicultural, first-generation settler and Registered Clinical Counsellor dedicated to supporting your healing journey with warmth, authenticity, and deep respect for your lived experience. My own path through anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and transgenerational colonial trauma has shaped my practice, which centers your resilience, wisdom, and strengths.
I offer a collaborative, client-centered space grounded in intersectional feminism, social justice, and decolonizing frameworks. Recognizing that trauma and struggles are intertwined with systemic oppression, I work from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens to help you reclaim your identity, culture, and autonomy. Together, we’ll explore your story, dissect societal narratives, and nurture your authentic self—away from dominant cultural pressures.
In our sessions, you’ll lead the way while I hold space for both your pain and your power. Let’s uncover the resilience already within you and build a future that aligns with your truth.
You are welcome here.

Is This You? Let’s Walk Together
-
Anyone exhausted by "just be resilient" narratives who craves therapy that names oppression as the root cause—not personal failure
-
First- and second-generation immigrants navigating cultural dislocation, family expectations, and the hidden grief of leaving home
-
BIPOC facing racialized workplace stress, microaggressions, or code-switching fatigue
-
Those living with chronic pain/illness whose conditions intersect with systemic healthcare barriers
-
Survivors of intergenerational trauma ready to break cycles of colonial, racial, or caste-based harm
-
Neurodivergent seekers questioning diagnostic labels that pathologize their brilliance—who want to understand their minds without capitalist productivity metrics defining their worth.
Whether you name your experiences as anxiety, complex trauma/trauma, burnout, grief, ADHD, perfectionism, or simply as "I'm so tired of being tired," this is a space where:
-
Your anger is honored
-
Your collapse is sacred
-
Your rest is radical
My Approach
As humans, our feelings are the quiet guides of our lives—pointing us toward safety, connection, and authenticity. But when trauma, systemic injustice, or grief forces us to disconnect from them, we’re left stranded: anxiety hums in the background, sadness weighs us down, and frustration feels endless.
This is where I meet you. Not with a checklist or a one-size-fits-all solution, but with space—space for you to exhale, to unravel, and to reconnect with the parts of yourself that grief or injustice tried to erase. Therapy with me is a slow unfurling. We’ll follow the threads of your story at your pace, with deep care for what hurts and fierce celebration of what’s kept you going.
Together, we’ll explore how oppression lives in the body, how intergenerational whispers shape your present, and how to reclaim the emotional compass you’ve always had.
This work is messy, nonlinear, and deeply personal. Some days, we might sit with silence or sorrow. Others, we might trace resilience in places you forgot to look. Always, you’ll lead. My role? To hold the map while you steer—offering trauma-informed tools, somatic practices, or simply the steady witness so many of us never had.
